About Us
IRT was founded in 2009 by Owner/Operator Len Simkins, a certified Level 2 Thermographer, and a liscensed RSO. Providing more than a combined sixteen years worth of experience to the trade, we are equipped to handle all of your infrared and nuclear needs, from energy audits to infrared scanning to green building and both short andlong-term energy costs savings.
At IRT, our goal is to see you increase the energy efficiency of your building and to make recommendations on how to improve and repair your roofing system in order to protect the assets within the building. With your roofing system being the most valuable asset of your building, we work to ensure that you have the best diagnostic information in hand to make the most informed decisions for your business.
IRT specializes in diagnosing areas of wet insulation trapped under the roof membrane in a non-intrusive way. Core-cut verification is also used if deemed necessary by your roofing needs. With the use of our infrared camera or nuclear gauge by our certified, experienced team, we can provide you with a great deal of information about the condition of your roof system that is not available upon visual inspection alone. After inspection, we will provide you with a comprehensive report detailing any issues found with your roofing system. During this meeting we will also recommend how to properly fix the issues at hand and what products will best suit your unique needs.

Len Simkins, RSO
Len is the owner and operator of IRT. His sixteen year background in the building trades service and sales field provides him with a unique perspective and wealth of knowledge to offer comprehensive information and solutions to clients.
He holds a Level 2 Certification in Thermography, and is a liscensed RSO that is specific to buildings and roofing systems and has a personable, approachable manner that puts clients at ease when dealing with the most challenging of situations.
Beckie Simkins
Beckie has come on board with IRT as the Office Manager. Her attention to detail and tenacity for a professional business image is helping to bring Infrared Roofing Technologies to the forefront of its trade.
Her work experience is extensive and varied in the administrative field. She has successfully owned and operated a home-based business, been an administrative assistant in the demanding business banking field, and is a current legal and medical transcriptionist for a Virginia-based court reporting firm.
